“The road to success is always under construction”

Usually we spend a lot of time preparing our self for the work that needs to be done. We are doing our pre-studies before organizational changes or IT projects, we are doing our construction drawings before we start to build our houses and we do all kind of preparations just to feel confident.

How do we prepare our self to change our business models?  Usually by some strategic work of course, and then, in best cases, we break that down to changes in our processes when doing our business architecturally work. After that the “stuff” needs to be implemented in our organization and systems and so on. And of course we will not be 100% right in the first attempt but a few iterations will take place before it is good enough (by the way we will never be 100% correct since the world around us is changing all the time).

So what if we could build at the same time we are doing our drawings? I wouldn’t recommend it when building a house (you might end up with a Winchester Mystery House) but when it comes to our business!

In a fast moving world where the conditions for companies business are changing all the time, agility is a success factor. As the golfer Arnold Palmer said “The road to success is always under construction”.

The other day one of my colleagues, a consultant, had a workshop meeting, designing BariumLive, with a customer. During that meeting the customer said, “This is amazing, it is like making the construction drawing and building at the same time”
I think that says a lot about what we at Barium can help you with making your company a more agile and successful one. So don’t hesitate to contact us to see how we can support you on your road to success!
